What makes Dream Spa’s Massages Unique?

So-Great.jpg

Massage is one of the oldest healing traditions, with massage therapy dating back to 2700 BCE and practiced by the Ancient Greeks, Egyptians, Chinese and Indians. It is the practice of kneading or manipulating muscles and soft tissue to improve health and wellbeing.

While massage in Western culture is often perceived as a luxury or leisurely treatment, there are extensive health and mental health benefits of massage that indicate it should be experienced frequently and adopted into a person’s ongoing health regime.

Some of the physical benefits of massage include:

  • Reduced muscle tension
  • Improved circulation
  • Stimulation of the lymphatic system
  • Reduction of stress hormones
  • Relaxation
  • Increased joint mobility and flexibility
  • Improved skin tone
  • Improved recovery of soft tissue injuries
  • Heightened mental alertness
  • Reduced anxiety and depression

With an ever-increasing number of day spas and salons in Perth’s north, Dream Spa distinguishes itself through its “client-first” approach, along with a range of additional services included in your treatment that all contribute to your body’s relaxation and benefit.

Lemon Foot Soak
Many of Dream Spa’s massage treatments begin with a lemon foot soak, allowing your body to relax and your mind to be in a tranquil state leading into the massage. Lemon helps to brighten up your skin and nails, eliminates toxins from your body and reduces swelling. It is also known to boost mood, reduce stress, increase immunity and aid weight loss.

 The Singing Bowl
For many centuries, music and sound have been used as tools to promote healing and meditation. Singing bowls were created over 5,000 years ago for this purpose. When struck, the singing bowl produces sound through vibration, which reduces stress and anxiety, increases mental and emotional clarity, and lowers blood pressure. Dream Spa uses the singing bowl to induce you into a state of peace before commencing your treatment.

Breathing
Deep breathing supports and enhances the goals of massage therapy. Prior to your massage, our therapists guide you with a short and gentle breathing instruction to promote physical relaxation and assist you to enter a peaceful state before the treatment commences. Dream Spa also uses natural essential oils for inhalation, furthering relaxation. When we inhale through the nose, airborne molecules interact with the olfactory organs and the brain. Inhaled essential oils can positively affect the body through several systems and pathways.

Influenced by Techniques from all over the World
Dream Spa owner and manager Jashu Hirani has over 24 years’ experience in Therapeutic Massage and draws from holistic massage techniques from around the world, including Sweden, Egypt, Hawaii, and of course her own Indian background. This positions Dream Spa’s massage style as one of a kind, and unlike any other treatment you’ve experienced elsewhere.

Herbal Tea
Following your massage, you are led into our relaxation area - your choice of the lounge or garden - to enjoy an herbal tea and sweet treat, allowing extra time to emerge from your peaceful state of mind and back into a state of awareness. Dream Spa uses Heritage Healers’ Herbal Infusions, which are based on the Ayurvedic Elements and use only the purest organic herbals that are completely caffeine-free.
